(Updated April 12, 2023)

All registered attendees have been emailed a link to download the AABA app and a separate link to access the AABA virtual platform where you can view recordings of the virtual presentations and materials for upcoming presentations in Reno.

The AABA app will be the most up-to-date version of the program, so be sure to download it! It's available on the App Store and the Google Play Store (search "AABA 2023").

Previous Updates

(Updated March 30, 2023)

A link to access the virtual platform was emailed to all registered AABA attendees on March 30. Look for an email with the subject "AABA 2023: Virtual Platform Access."

(Updated March 20, 2023)

The discounted-rate AABA hotel room block has sold out.

(Updated March 1, 2023)

A preliminary AABA program has been posted! Please note that this program will change over the coming weeks, so be sure to download a new version closer to the meeting.

We are currently finalizing the import of the program to our virtual platform. Once that is finished, we will send emails to presenters with instructions on how to upload their presentations to the virtual platform.

(Updated February 10, 2023)

We have finalized the 2023 AABA program! Emails were sent to presenters on 2-10-2023 notifying them of their presentation format, day, and time. If you did not receive an email, please reach out to Kristi Lewton, AABA Vice President.

The online conference will run from April 3-5, 2023. We were able to get all the online presentations scheduled during the early part of the week so that we didn't overlap with Passover. The Reno events will run from April 19-22, 2023.

We hope to update the AABA website with a preliminary schedule and program in the next week or so!

The Program Committee is finalizing the scheduling of the 2023 AABA conference in Reno and online and we are looking forward to the exciting scientific program! We have a great lineup of invited symposia, contributed presentations, workshops, and other events for both the online (April 3-7) and Reno (April 19-22) parts of the meeting. We will be posting updates on the annual meeting website, so check back regularly.

If you signed up for a VIRTUAL/ONLINE presentation, we have emailed you a quick survey to indicate your time zone availability. Please fill it out by February 3rd! This allows us to schedule you for a time that works reasonably well for you (i.e., not in the middle of the night—unless that’s what you choose!).

If you submitted an abstract for presentation at #AABA2023 (virtual or in person), please note that we plan to notify presenters of the day and time of their presentation by mid-February, so keep an eye on your email. If you do not receive an email from us by mid-February containing your presentation details, please reach out to AABA Vice President, Kristi Lewton ([email protected]).

You can find the list of workshops and events on this page, which we will be updating regularly as we finalize the schedule.

We are planning online programming to run similarly as it did the past two years with small, synchronous discussion sessions designed to be engaging for participants and attendees alike. We previously used Pathable as the online platform, but it has been discontinued. We will be using a new virtual platform this year and we will have more information on this soon.

Travel, hotel reservations, meeting registration, and childcare

The in person meeting will be held at the Peppermill Resort in Reno, which is conveniently located just 2.5 miles from the Reno airport. As you begin to plan your trip, check out the local arrangements website which lists great restaurants, activities, and museums in the Reno area, as well as information on skiing, snowboarding, hiking, and climbing in the beautiful Lake Tahoe area, which is under an hour from Reno.

If you have not already registered for the conference, you may do so here. Note that meeting registration rates will increase on March 15! While you are registering for the conference, make your hotel reservation using the AABA group rate.

As in previous years, AABA will provide free childcare (“Camp AABA”) at the Peppermill Resort. We will also be offering a limited number of caregiver grants for those that are unable to use the Camp AABA services. More information is posted here.

AABA Auction

Please consider donating to the AABA auction, the proceeds of which fund our student awards and other AABA initiatives. If you have any items that you would like to donate to the auction, or if you would like to volunteer to help with the auction, please contact Shara Bailey ([email protected]) and Madelynne Dudas ([email protected]).

Academic program recruitment displays at #AABA2023

AABA is offering discounted tabletop exhibits for qualifying universities and colleges in order to promote their academic programs. These tables will be in a special section of the exhibit hall and do not need to be staffed. If your organization has a tabletop display or logo tablecloth it can be placed on the table along with some promotional brochures or materials. Please click here for more information.

COVID-19 safety policies

AABA is committed to providing a safe conference experience, especially for vulnerable members of our community. AABA will require COVID-19 vaccination and masking in meeting rooms and poster sessions in Reno. We ask that all attendees be up-to-date on COVID-19 boosters currently available to them. More details on these policies are posted on the AABA website.
