Assistant Professor

The Department of Surgery at the University of Texas Southwestern Medical Center seeks applications for a full-time, non-tenure- track position at the level of Assistant Professor. Successful applicants must have an M.D or Ph.D. degree in the biomedical sciences or other anatomically-related fields and experience in teaching human gross anatomy. Preference will be given to candidates who also have experience in curriculum development, particularly the implementation of active learning experiences with clinically relevant content. Although not required, a candidate who also has experience teaching embryology would be ideal. Appointment rank will be commensurate with academic accomplishments and experience.
The successful candidate will be joining a highly interactive and collegial group of faculty with a strong teaching program for the Medical School and the School of Health Professions. Teaching responsibilities will include participation in lectures, cadaveric dissection laboratory, active learning sessions, and student assessment in Human Gross Anatomy. The candidate is expected to participate in collaborative research within their area of expertise and/or the scholarship of teaching and learning and contribute to the generation of new knowledge in their field.
