Donations
AABA accepts donations to the General Fund, Community Fund, and Presidents’ Fund. Descriptions of funds are below. Donors may choose specific funds to give to by clicking “Make a Donation” below.
AABA COD-IDEAS Fund
The AABA COD-IDEAS (Committee on Diversity – Increasing Diversity in Evolutionary Anthropological Sciences) Fund provides ongoing financial support for the activities of the Committee on Diversity’s Increasing Diversity in Evolutionary Anthropological Sciences program at our Annual Meetings. The AABA COD-IDEAS Program provides a team, a space, and a suite of activities to engage issues of scholarship, professional preparation, and community building for a cohort of IDEAS Student Scholars (both undergraduate and graduate), IDEAS Faculty Scholars (postdoctoral researchers, adjunct faculty, early career full-time faculty, and advanced career faculty), and IDEAS Core Faculty at the AABA annual meeting. You can learn more about the AABA COD-IDEAS program here. A donation to this fund ensures that these activities and scholars will continue to be supported at our annual meetings.
AABA Community Fund
The AABA Community Fund provides financial resources for activities that provide support to AABA membership, the broader community of biological anthropologists, and/or other related stakeholders and community partners so as to permit broader participation in AABA’s professional activities, including, for example, subsidizing food costs at the annual meeting, travel expenses to participate in AABA events, and other support permitting broader participation by AABA members, members of the broader biological anthropological community, or other related stakeholders and community partners.
AABA Presidents’ Fund
The AABA Presidents’ Fund provides financial resources for the President of AABA to undertake activities furthering the purposes of AABA that build, enhance, or repair the sense of community among the AABA membership, including financial support of travel, honoraria, catering, etc. for the Presidential Panel/Keynote or similar event at the AABA annual meeting, and/or other activities furthering these purposes.
AABA General Fund
Contributions to the AABA General Fund will be used to fund, for example, AABA student travel award programs and the cost of childcare at the annual conference.
AABA Planned Giving Program
The AABA Planned Giving Program allows you to arrange a future gift to the AABA as part of your estate planning. By including the AABA in your estate plans, you help support research, education, and diversity in biological anthropology for generations to come.
