Ph.D. Student Opportunity
The Department of Biomedical Sciences, Texas A&M University College of Dentistry (TAMUCOD), invites applications for a NSF-funded Ph.D. Student opportunity to be supervised by Dr. Qian Wang. This NSF funded project is aimed to use a comparative method to reconstruct the health and mortality profile of a prehistoric settlement and to determine the cause of the destruction of this settlement, likely a deadly infectious disease. The position will begin from August 2022. Applicants must possess a M.S. degree in bioarcheology or biological anthropology. Preference will be given to applicants with previous experience in human anatomy, osteology, paleopathology, evolutionary morphology, as well as biostatistics.
