Instructional Assistant Professor – Anatomy – Academic Professional Track (Non-Tenure)

Position Description
The Department of Biomedical Sciences, College of Dentistry at Texas A&M University, located in Dallas, Texas invites applications for a full-time non-tenure track position with an 11-month academic appointment beginning fall semester 2022. The applicants will be considered for the title of Instructional Assistant Professor. A primary responsibility will be team-teaching human gross anatomy to dental students and graduate students. Service to the department, university and the field and scholarly activities are also expected.
The primary missions of the Department of Biomedical Sciences are:
• to provide superior education in basic biomedical sciences to dental undergraduate and postgraduate students, as well as predoctoral PhD, DDS/PhD trainees, postdoctoral fellows and hygiene students, and
• to develop and maintain outstanding basic science and applied biomedical research programs that will advance knowledge in the fields of dental, oral, craniofacial, mineralized tissues, bioengineering, sleep and airway, pain, and inflammation research. Innovation and scholarship in teaching and learning/educational research are valued within the department.

Qualifications
Candidates must have either a PhD in anatomy or anatomical/biological/physical anthropology or significant coursework/training in anatomical sciences with either a DDS/MD degree.
Teaching experience is preferred but not necessary.
We seek an individual with strong organizational and interpersonal skills as the new faculty is anticipated to eventually take over the position of Anatomy Director and course directorships.
