Paleoanthropology/skeletal biology

The Department of Anthropology, Stony Brook University, seeks an individual whose research focuses on paleoanthropology and/or skeletal biology to fill a tenure-track faculty position at the Assistant Professor level. We seek to deliver an expanded undergraduate curriculum, to strengthen the graduate program, and to further strengthen synergistic relations with other departments and institutes on campus such as Anatomical Sciences, Ecology & Evolution, Biomedical Engineering, Geosciences and the Turkana Basin Institute.

We seek to hire and individual with expertise in the area of hominin paleontology (evolutionary morphology) and/or skeletal biology (e.g., mechanobiology, heritability, developmental genetics, adaptation). The candidate must possess the qualifications and skills necessary to teach a large enrollment undergraduate course in human anatomy. Candidates must hold a PhD by the starting date of appointment.
