The Department of Anthropology at The University of Winnipeg invites outstanding candidates to apply for a tenure-track appointment at the rank of Associate Professor. The successful candidate will serve as Chair for a three or five year term; the length of term will be mutually agreed upon by the candidate and the Search Committee.

The ideal candidate will possess a PhD in either Cultural or Biological Anthropology, and will have the necessary academic credentials to be appointed as an Associate Professor. Specialization is open for both fields, however, preference will be given to Cultural anthropologists working with northern Canadian communities and Biological anthropologists with open specializations. The successful candidate will be expected to teach a combination of introductory and upper level courses in their areas of expertise. Candidates will have a passion for undergraduate teaching, a proven track record of excellence in research and publication, as well as strong academic leadership, department governance and administrative skills. Demonstrated effective team building, communication and interpersonal skills are essential.

Subject to budgetary approval, this position will be effective from July 1, 2017. Salary levels will be commensurate with qualifications and experience.
