Visiting Assistant Professor in Biological Anthropology

The Department of Anthropology at the University of Pittsburgh invites applications for a full-time one-year Visiting Assistant Professor position (non-tenure stream) in biological anthropology, beginning September 1, 2018 pending budgetary approval. Candidates must have a PhD at the time of application.

We seek an individual with research specialization in anthropological genetics and epidemiology. Preference will be given to those who work with contemporary living populations. Teaching responsibilities will include 2 courses in the Fall term and 2 courses in the Spring term. Courses taught will include an intermediate course in Human Origins and a large introductory lecture class in Biocultural Anthropology. The two additional introductory or intermediate courses will reflect the applicant’s area of expertise in anthropological genetics, the human life cycle, and/or environment and health. Geographic specialization is open.
