Stony Brook Medicine – Gross Anatomy Instructor Position

The Department of Anatomical Sciences, Stony Brook Medicine,invites applications for an Instructor position, with primary teaching responsibilities in human gross anatomy to healthcare professional students. Position will begin June 15, 2015. This is a one year appointment with the possibility of renewal. Applications will be reviewed on a rolling basis upon receipt.

Applicants must have a Ph.D. in functional morphology, evolutionary morphology, vertebrate paleontology, systematics, or physical anthropology by the start date and have completed a dissection-based course in human anatomy. Preference will be given to those who have also taught in a dissection-based course. Candidate should have an ongoing research program and record of publication.

The Ph.D. degree and research focus should complement the department’s existing strengths in functional morphology, evolutionary morphology, systematics,vertebrate paleontology, or physical anthropology. (Current departmental faculty include Brigitte Demes, John Fleagle, William Jungers, Nathan Kley, David Krause, Susan Larson, Maureen O’Leary, Erik Seiffert, Jack Stern, Randall Susman and Alan Turner).
