Teaching Replacement – Paleoanthropology
The DFG Center for Advanced Studies “Words, Bones, Genes, Tools” at the University of Tübingen seeks to fill a limited (18 months) position of a
Professurvertreter/in / Teaching replacement (100%)
to teach courses in the paleoanthropology curriculum (BA, MSc) of the University of Tübingen during the upcoming three semesters.
Areas of expertise must include, but are not limited to, human evolution and adaptation and the study of the human and/or primate fossil record. Knowledge of virtual anthropology, geometric morphometrics, and functional anatomy would also be welcome.
The position should start April 1st 2017 and will be limited to 3 semesters (18 months). Salary will be according to the German Salary System W1, 100 %.
The successful candidate will have an excellent record of teaching and research in human evolution and the human / primate fossil record. He or she is expected to collaborate on existing projects of the Paleoanthropology section and to contribute to the supervision of students.
Requirements for the position include a Ph.D. in Physical Anthropology or equivalent, postdoctoral experience, and teaching experience in human evolution (introduction to human evolution, advanced courses in human evolution, and/or the human fossil record).
