Assistant/Associate Professor Human Clinical Anatomy

High Point University is currently accepting applications for a full-time, tenure-track, 12-month graduate
faculty position. This position is at the rank of Assistant or Associate Professor and is a dual appointment
between the Department of Physician Assistant Studies and the Department of Exercise Science. The

QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE: Applicants must possess: 1) an earned doctorate in human anatomy or a
related field (ABD will be considered but degree must be conferred no later than 5/1/17) 2) teaching
experience in human cadaveric dissection; 3) strong potential for excellence in teaching; 3) effective
interpersonal communication skills; 4) a willingness to embrace working in an inter-disciplinary atmosphere;
5) ability to pursue both an independent research agenda and contribute to collaborative research activities; 6)
willingness to contribute to university and departmental service activities. In addition to the above, the ideal
candidate would have experience as the instructor-of-record for a human cadaver-based anatomy lab.

RESPONSIBILITIES: The successful candidate will be responsible for delivering human gross anatomy with
cadaveric dissection related-content in the Master of Physician Assistant Studies and the Master of Science in
Athletic Training programs. The successful candidate will also contribute to the instruction of pre-professional
undergraduate students in the following areas: undergraduate human anatomy and lab (cat dissection);
advanced human anatomy and lab (human cadaveric dissection); and human microanatomy. This 12-month
appointment consists of specific instructional responsibilities in the summer and either the fall or the spring
academic semesters. In the non-instructional semester, there is an expectation that undergraduate students will
be incorporated into the faculty member’s academic research.
