University of New Mexico tenure-track faculty position in Evolutionary Anthropology
The UNM Department of Anthropology invites applications for a tenure-track faculty position in Evolutionary Anthropology at the level of probationary assistant professor. We seek a STEM-based scientist with expertise in contemporary humans who can complement a three-subfield department (including ethnology and archaeology) with national recognition for scholarship and graduate training.
Minimum Qualifications:
Earned PhD by time of application in Anthropology (or related field) with emphasis in Evolutionary, Biological, or Physical Anthropology
Research expertise in contemporary humans related to one or more of the following: behavioral ecology, life history, demography, epidemiology, or computational/mathematical modeling
Evidence of peer-reviewed publications and recent presentations of ongoing work that shows research productivity involving field, laboratory, and/or analytical projects
Demonstrated high-quality teaching experience at either the undergraduate or graduate levels
Evidence of an established independent research program
Preferred Qualifications:
Planned and on-going extramurally funded research program
Research that includes field work , data analyses, and/or analytical approaches in evolutionary anthropology
Research that is related to the anthropology of health
Demonstrated quantitative skills and ability to use and/or develop novel methods and techniques
Ability to collaborate in integrative interdisciplinary research and expertise that will complement existing strengths in UNM evolutionary anthropology
Demonstrated commitment to diversity, equity, inclusion, and student success, as well as working with broadly diverse communities
