Research Assistant Scientist

The University of Florida, Department of Anthropology enthusiastically announces a search for a nontenure track position at the rank of Research Assistant Scientist in forensic anthropology, available immediately. This is a twelve-month, full-time, time-limited position, to be renewed on a year-to-year basis, contingent on funding. The successful candidate will participate in forensic casework and lab management at the C.A. Pound Human Identification Laboratory (CAPHIL). In addition, the candidate will have the opportunity to collaborate on research initiatives in human biological variation, contribute to publications and requests for external funding, and pursue independent research. We seek a candidate with forensic case work experience, including independent preparation of forensic case reports. Experience with trauma analysis and field recovery methods is desirable. A Ph.D. in biological anthropology or related field is required at the time of appointment, and eligibility for ABFA certification is preferred.
