Brooklyn College of the City University of New York (CUNY) invites applications for a full-time tenure-track Assistant Professor in the Department of Anthropology and Archaeology with a starting date of August 2018.

The Department of Anthropology and Archaeology is a four-field department with faculty in each sub-discipline. The faculty member will be required to manage and expand the Forensics Program through curricular development and by establishing connections with other relevant departments and programs.

The successful candidate will be expected to:

• Teach undergraduate courses in Biological Anthropology including, Human Anatomy and Physiology, Human Variation, Human Osteology, Forensic Anthropology and Forensic Science. There is also the possibility of teaching graduate students at the CUNY Graduate Center and participating in the NYCEP collaborative.

• Pursue a productive program of field and/or laboratory research, and contribute to existing programmatic strengths.

• Engage in research in biological anthropology and scholarship involving peer reviewed publications.

• Student advisement and research mentoring.

• Provide service to the department, college, university, and community, e.g. committee, administrative, supervisory, and other assignments.

QUALIFICATIONS
• Ph.D. degree in Anthropology from an accredited institution is required by June 2018.
• Also required are the ability to teach successfully, demonstrated scholarship or achievement, and ability to cooperate with others for the good of the department and the institution.
• Candidate must have an active record of research and scholarship.

COMPENSATION
Salary commensurate with education and experience. All appointments are subject to financial availability.
