Postdoctoral Research Associate

The Department of Anthropology at the University of Oklahoma (http://ou.edu/cas/anthropology) is seeking candidates for a Post-Doctoral Researcher position at the Laboratories of Molecular Anthropology and Microbiome Research (lmamr.org), under the supervision of Dr. Brian M. Kemp.

This Post-Doctoral Researcher will contribute to a National Institute of Justice funded project entitled “Quantifying and Qualifying the Influence of Standard Laboratory Procedures on Aged, Degraded, and/or Low Copy Number DNA”, as well as to various on-going ancient DNA projects.

Suitable candidates will have previous bioinformatics training, with emphasis in the analysis of next-generation DNA sequencing data, especially with regards to damage patterns typically observed in ancient DNA samples.

Previous laboratory experience working with aged, degraded, and/or low copy number DNA samples is appreciated, but not required.

The two-year position requires a Ph.D. by the start date. Salary $50,000.
