Full-time Lecturer (Open)
The University of Central Florida (UCF) Department of Anthropology invites applications for a nine-month, non-tenure earning, full-time lecturer position, anticipated to begin in fall 2019. The candidate’s geographical and topical area of specialization is open. This is an undergraduate teaching-intensive position. The successful candidate must possess the qualifications and skills necessary to teach large undergraduate introductory courses (300+ students) in all four sub-disciplines, preference for ability to teach upper-level courses in multiple subdisciplines, and must be able to demonstrate their commitment to teaching excellence. Evidence of strong teaching skills is desired.
Teaching assignments are based on the needs of the department. Full-time lecturers normally teach 4 classes per semester (spring/fall) based on the department’s current workload policy and may have the opportunity to earn additional salary teaching summer classes, if funding is available. The successful candidate must teach courses in face-to-face, mixed (hybrid) mode, and fully online formats. – Position Minimum Qualifications
A Ph.D. in Anthropology (sub-disciplinary specialization is open) from an accredited institution is required by position start-date (anticipated August 8, 2019). Applicants must be trained in a four-field approach to anthropology.
