Postdoctoral Scholar in Bone Biomechanics and Skeletal Variation
The Department of Anthropology at The Pennsylvania State University (http://anth.la.psu.edu/) is seeking applications for a Postdoctoral Scholar to join a collaborative research project investigating the functional and evolutionary significance of postcranial skeletal variation in humans and nonhuman primates. The ideal candidate for this position should have experience with microCT imaging, processing, and analysis together with one or more of the following approaches: methods used to quantify trabecular and cortical bone structure, geometric morphometrics, finite element modeling. Experience with software packages such as Avizo, ImageJ, and R preferred but not required. Coding experience is a plus. The anticipated start date for the position is July 2019 but is negotiable. The position will last one year with an opportunity of renewal for a second year. Qualified candidate must hold a Ph.D. degree or have completed all of the requirements for a Ph.D. by the time of appointment.
