Visiting Lecturer

The Department of Anthropology at Wellesley College invites applicants for a one-year Visiting Lecturer position for the 2021-2022 academic year. Teaching responsibilities will be flexible to a candidate’s area of expertise, but should broadly support archaeological instruction within the department. Geographic and temporal expertise are open, though GIS teaching ability is welcome. The candidate will be responsible for teaching four courses in total (two in the Fall semester; two in the Spring semester). Our expectation is that all instruction will be in-person for the 2021-2022 academic year. Salary will be based on level of experience ($48k for Ph.D., $36k for ABD) and will include full benefits and eligibility for faculty housing.

We will start reviewing applications on April 9, 2021, and will continue until the position is filled. Applicants should submit a cover letter, curriculum vitae, and the names/email addresses of two references directly to Adam Van Arsdale, Chair of the department (avanarsd@wellesley.edu). Questions about the position are welcome. Wellesley College is especially interested in candidates who can contribute to the excellence of the academic community through their teaching and service. We are dedicated to building a culturally diverse and pluralistic faculty, and strongly encourage applications from scholars whose perspectives are underrepresented in the academy.
