Assistant Professor Of Anthropology
The Department of Social Sciences at Texas A&M University–Central Texas (TAMUCT) is seeking applicants for a tenure track Assistant Professor position in Anthropology to begin August 2024, with research and teaching expertise in cultural anthropology and related areas.
The primary responsibilities of the successful applicant will be to:
–Teach undergraduate courses in anthropology, with a particular focus on cultural anthropology and related areas, including the following preexisting required courses: ANTH 3300 (Cultural Anthropology) and ANTH 3310 (Anthropological Theory). The candidate is also expected to develop one or more courses relatng to their research specialization.
–Demonstrate a commitment to excellence in teaching and mentoring a diverse student population and to working effectively with faculty, staff, and students across disciplines.
–Advise students in the Anthropology BS program.
–Engage in an active research agenda including publishing findings and presenting findings at academic conferences.
–Participate in service commitments within the department, college, university, and the profession.
–Take an active role in the growth of the Anthropology BS program.
Required Education and Experience
–Ph.D. in Anthropology in hand by time of appointment.
–One year of undergraduate or graduate teaching experience.
–Evidence of an active research agenda.
