University at Albany SUNY Rank Open Professor Physical/Biological Anthropology

The Department of Anthropology of the University at Albany (SUNY) is seeking applications for a faculty position at open rank in Physical/Biological Anthropology. Research area is open, but candidates working within the context of evolutionary theory, including on modern humans, are especially encouraged to apply. Successful candidates will be able to teach classes relevant to a large and growing major in Health Sciences and Human Biology, specifically Introduction to Human Evolution and upper-level courses, as well as graduate classes in biological anthropology. The position entails a competitive salary and start-up package commensurate with rank.

The successful candidate must hold a doctoral degree from a university accredited by the U.S. Department of Education or an internationally recognized accrediting organization. At the assistant professor level, preferred candidates will have a strong record of scholarship and show promise as independent, extramurally funded investigators. At the Associate and Professor levels, preferred candidates will have demonstrated a significant and continued trajectory of publications and external funding.
