Kent State University’s Department of Anthropology invites applications for a full-time, tenure-track position. The successful candidate will join a dynamic and growing department with excellent research and educational programs.
For this position, we are looking for a paleoanthropologist who can teach courses primarily in paleontology, osteology, and biological anthropology more broadly. Research area within paleoanthropology is open, with a preference towards fossil hominins/hominoids. The position will begin fall, 2026.
The successful candidate will be expected to establish an extramurally funded research program, engage in collaborative research, direct student research, and exhibit a commitment to excellence in undergraduate and graduate education.
The successful candidate must have a Ph.D. at the time of hire and postdoctoral experience is desirable. This position is available at the Assistant or Associate Professor rank; candidates at the Associate Professor level are expected to have a history of successful extramural funding.
