Due to the need to incorporate a gender perspective in our workspaces and in our own research, Transmitting Science is offering a new course: “Gender and Science: a comprehensive approach”
Dates and schedule: November 29th-December 3rd, 2021. Online live sessions from Monday to Friday, from 15:00 to 19:00 (Madrid time zone).
Instructor: Paula Medina (Transmitting Science / UCM, Spain)
Invited Speakers: Julían Lasprilla (Consultant, Colombia), Anna K. Behrensmeyer (National Museum of Natural History, USA), and Archie Crowley (University of South Carolina, USA).
Course Overview:
The aim of this course is to provide people attending this course with a basic toolkit to face the inequality that is still rampant in workplaces, research groups, and projects.
This course has been thought to offer a critical understanding of how scientific knowledge and praxis are informed by gender and other axes of social difference.
The course is divided into three main sections that go through: i) theory; ii) empirical data and knowledge; and iii) policies, actions, and strategies.
