The National Institute on Aging has recently announced two new funding opportunities with targeted funding for research on determinants of differences among human and nonhuman primate species in life spans, life histories, and other aging-related outcomes. One RFA is for research projects, the other is for an infrastructure project (see links below):

The deadline for applications is September 27, 2023. We strongly encourage registering and attending our March 30th Pre-Application Webinar from 10:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. EST. This webinar will include an overview of the initiatives and address potential questions from applicants related to the scope and other aspects of the RFAs. We also have a webpage with “Frequently Asked Questions for RFA-AG-24-019 and RFA-AG-24-020”.

Additional information related to research on determinants of primate species life span differences (including animal, specimen, imaging, and data resources) is available in a report based on a recent NIA workshop on this topic.

If you have any questions or would like to discuss anything regarding these RFAs, please email [email protected].
