We invite the AABA community to take part in the the Ancient Pathogen Genomics International Symposium, which will take place in Querétaro, México, on April 12-13 2025. This event is co-organized by the International Laboratory for Human Genome Research (LIIGH-UNAM) and the Fred Hutchinson Cancer Center with support from Twist Biosciences.

This two-day symposium aims to bring together trainees and leading experts in the field of ancient pathogen genomics to meet, discuss, and exchange ideas on the present and future of the field. The goal is to strengthen the networks of people working in the field across countries.

This event will feature an outstanding lineup of keynote and guest speakers, as well as opportunities for contributed talks and poster presentations. Theabstract submission deadline is February 15, and registration deadline is on March 1st.

To ensure broad participation, we are offering affordable registration fees ($100 – $200 USD) and special rates for colleagues from low- and middle-income countries (LMICs). Registration includes access to all sessions, meals, coffee breaks, and a gala dinner at the Misión Grand Hotel. Additionally, we have a limited number of scholarships available for students from Mexico.

Prior to the symposium, we will host a workshop on ancient paleoproteomics, designed for students with an interest in this area. Note that only registered symposium participants can attend the workshop.
