Postmortem Fingerprinting and Identification Course

This 4-day course focuses on identification of human remains through postmortem fingerprinting and DNA sampling, locating and documenting an advanced decomposition/skeletonized death scene, and the use of federal databases for identification and case management.

Who: Historically, this course is geared towards law enforcement and federal employees working along the US-Mexico border who often need to recover surface-scattered skeletonized remains and fingerprint individuals in advanced decomposition. Any professional law enforcement officer, crime scene professional, pathologist, or forensic anthropologist is eligible for enrollment. All others must request permission.
