XXIII International Juan Comas Colloquium: The Social Commitment of Biological Anthropology

The Mexican Association of Biological Anthropology and the Latin American Association of Biological Anthropology are sponsoring the XXIII International Juan Comas Colloquium on November 24-28, 2025, in Cholula Puebla, Mexico,
Juan Comas was born in Spain and immigrated to Mexico, becoming a citizen in 1940. Over the course of his career, he became an international leader in Biological Anthropology. In addition to a strong four-field approach to anthropology that questioned racism, he wrote influential textbooks about the science, and recorded the history of the science, including the history of the AABA.
This long-running colloquium provides a space for academic debate in Anthropology, in honor of Juan Comas' influential role at the forefront of the discipline. Come, meet new colleagues, and network with new and old!
