The Department of Health & Behavioral Sciences (HBSC) has an opening for a full-time tenure-track position at the level of Assistant professor to begin August 2025. Review of applications will begin on November 24, 2024.

We are seeking an outstanding scholar, mentor and teacher to join our Ph.D. program in HBSC and our undergraduate programs (B.A. & B.S.) in public health. We are interested in applicants with expertise in quantitative or mixed-methods research, whose work centers social, cultural, behavioral, or biological approaches to food, nutrition, and population health (broadly defined). We are interested in applicants who can teach undergraduate courses in Introduction to Public Health, Introduction to Environmental Health, Introduction to Epidemiology, or Health Policy, and contribute to our doctoral and undergraduate curriculum more broadly. Candidates whose research relates to minoritized populations, health disparities, and health equity are encouraged to apply, as are candidates who will enhance the department’s commitment to diversity, equity and inclusion through research, teaching, and outreach to communities in the US and abroad. The successful applicant will join a research active interdisciplinary department that values excellence in both research and teaching. Current department faculty hold Ph.D.’s in sociology, anthropology, psychology, and geography.
