Job Description:
Lincoln Memorial University’s DeBusk College of Osteopathic Medicine (LMU-DCOM) invites applications for an Anatomy faculty position at its Knoxville, Tennessee location.
The successful candidate will contribute to anatomy education across LMU-DCOM’s Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine, Master of Science in Biomedical Sciences and Anatomical Sciences, and PhD in Anatomy Education programs. Primary teaching responsibilities include large-group instruction and small-group laboratory sessions in dissection-based medical gross anatomy within the first-year medical curriculum.
Opportunities may also include teaching in histology, neuroanatomy, embryology, and systems-based medical courses. Candidates with research interests in anatomy education, clinical anatomy, biological anthropology, or vertebrate paleontology are especially encouraged to apply and may join existing collaborative research teams across LMU campuses.
The position also includes opportunities to mentor graduate and medical students and participate in departmental and institutional service.
Required Qualification:
PhD in Anatomical Sciences or a related field.
Preferred Qualifications:
Experience teaching gross anatomy using whole-body donor dissection
Experience in health professions education
Evidence-based teaching approaches that promote student engagement
Ability or interest in teaching embryology, histology, and/or neuroanatomy
An active research program that can involve graduate and medical students
