Field School in Mortuary Archaeology: Giecz, Poland

The Mortuary Archaeology Field School in Giecz, Poland is accepting applications for the summer 2018 field season. Site Gz10 is an inhumation cemetery dating to the beginning of the 11th century AD (early Medieval). Excavations to-date have revealed 70+ well-preserved burials, including males, females, and children. Field school participants will gain unique experience excavating human burials and receive training in archaeological field and lab methods as well as human osteology and bioarchaeology.
