Middle Paleolithic Field School in North Macedonia

The Neanderthal Crossroads Project is the first Middle Paleolithic field school in the Balkan region. Students will learn trench excavation at the site of Uzun Mera as well as surface survey, geo-coring and mapping in the surrounding cave systems and artifact cataloging. Visit the exciting country of North Macedonia and help uncover the behaviors and culture of Neanderthals at the gateway to Europe.
