The Journal of Human Evolution announces Early Career Researcher Paper Prize
The Journal of Human Evolution (JHE) is excited to announce the launching of an Early Career Researcher Paper Prize. The first winner of this award will be announced at the end of 2022, as part of JHE’s 50th anniversary celebrations. Following this, it will be awarded on an annual basis.
This award is being run in an effort to highlight the excellence of work published by those in the beginning stages of their career. Papers must present original and exciting new research that will contribute to advancing the field of human evolution. Authors must have received their PhD within the last five years and must either be the sole or lead author of the paper, as well as the corresponding author.
Authors will be presented with the opportunity to nominate their papers during the online submission process. Papers will be peer-reviewed and published in the normal way and will then be critically reviewed by a panel of JHE editors at the end of the year. The winning article will be made freely available for one year and promoted on the journal homepage and social media. Additionally, the winner will receive a $500 cash prize and certificate recognizing the impact of their research.
The first prize will be awarded to a paper with a publication date in 2022. We look forward to receiving your submissions for the first round of this new initiative!
