Tenure-Track Anatomy and Physiology
The Department of Biology, Geology, and Environmental Sciences is seeking applicants for a tenure-track position in Anatomy and Physiology. The successful candidate is expected to teach upper division undergraduate lecture/laboratory courses in Anatomy and Physiology, basic Anatomy and Physiology courses for nursing and veterinary technology students, and a variety of undergraduate courses which could include Histology, Parasitology, Cell Biology, Cell Culture, Cell Physiology, Immunology, and courses in their area of expertise. They will be responsible for developing an externally funded research program involving students.
RANK & SALARY: This is a tenure-track faculty appointment. Salary is competitive and commensurate with academic preparation and experience. An excellent fringe benefits package is included.
The successful applicant must be capable of and committed to effective teaching, scholarly growth, and service to the University and communities. Also, the successful applicant will have experience with program assessment and working with diverse populations.
In addition to the aforementioned requirements, in order to be a leading applicant in this search, the applicant must be fluent in the English language, be able to communicate well, be experienced in program-level assessment of student learning and the effective use of innovative curricular approaches that are student-centered, inquiry-based, and hands-on oriented. The candidate must also be able to demonstrate outstanding potential for excellence in teaching through a successful interview and /or classroom demonstration.
ADDITIONAL RESPONSIBILITIES include involvement with departmental, college-wide, and university committees. Also, in accordance with the terms of the collective bargaining agreement between the Pennsylvania State System of Higher Education and APSCUF, the successful applicant might be assigned to perform work at off-campus sites, in the evening/weekend college and/or provide instruction through online and/or other distance education methods.
