Open Rank Lecturer – Human Gross and Neuroanatomy (Cleveland Campus)

Ohio University Heritage College of Osteopathic Medicine’s Department of Biomedical Sciences is seeking a human anatomist to participate in the delivery of our integrated medical curriculum on our Cleveland Campus. The primary responsibilities will be to provide lectures, participate in the teaching of anatomical science labs, engage in curricular leadership and development, and assist with the management of anatomical resources. The ideal applicant will have experience teaching dissection-based human gross anatomy and neuroanatomy. An ability to instruct in complementary areas such as histology and embryology is also desired.

The new Cleveland campus opened in June of 2015 in collaboration with the Cleveland Clinic. With an emphasis on primary care, it was founded to help provide physicians for underserved communities in Northeast Ohio. The modern classrooms, offices and anatomy lab are integrated into South Pointe Hospital in Warrensville Heights. The campus is close to the 271/480 interchange with easy access to a diverse array of urban, suburban and rural communities, numerous world-renowned cultural institutions, the extensive Cleveland Metroparks system and Cuyahoga Valley National Park. The successful candidate will join a small, close-knit basic science faculty in a supportive, collegial atmosphere with excellent administrative and technical support.

This faculty position is non-tenure track and will be hired at the rank of Lecturer, Associate Lecturer, or Senior Lecturer with promotional eligibility, depending on the experience and credentials of the successful candidate. Duties will be divided between teaching and service. The position will be based at the Cleveland campus and will begin June 1, 2016. MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:

The minimum requirements include a doctoral degree with teaching experience in a health sciences academic environment (ABD applications are accepted).

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

Experience with distance learning technology and a commitment to excellence and innovation in medical education are strongly desired.
