Assistant/Associate Professor, Tenure Track in the Anatomical Sciences
The Center for Anatomical Sciences at the University of North Texas Health Science Center at Fort Worth invites applications for a full-time faculty position with a focus on teaching human gross anatomy. The successful applicant(s) must have a Ph.D., D.O., M.D., or equivalent degree and at least 2-3 years experience in teaching clinically-oriented human anatomy with cadaver dissection. Current funding is not a requirement; however, candidates will be expected to initiate and lead research projects in clinical human anatomy and/or related fields, anatomical education, and/or science educational outreach programs. Other subjects that the applicant might be requested to teach are medical histology, embryology, radiology, and/or neuroanatomy. The anatomical sciences at UNTHSC are team-taught, and the applicants will be expected to contribute to both lecture and laboratory instruction in these disciplines. Other potential responsibilities include organizing workshops and training activities for students, residents, and clinicians in the BioSkills Laboratory, taking on and advising graduate students in the Structural Anatomy and Rehabilitation Sciences program, preparing quality human cadaver prosections for use in all aspects of medical education at UNTHSC, and working with other anatomy faculty in a variety of science outreach programs.
