Visiting Assistant Professor in Biological Anthropology

The Department of Anthropology at Idaho State University is seeking applications for a visiting assistant professor in biological anthropology. The position will start August 2017. Candidates will have Ph.D. in hand by the time of appointment: ABDs may be considered. We seek an active biological anthropologist with evidence of superior teaching ability and an active research program. Research specialty is open, but we prefer candidates with research topics of broad anthropological significance including human adaptation, demography, disease and health, forensics, and nutrition. We also prefer candidates who demonstrate inventive undergraduate teaching.

The candidate will teach 6 courses (3 per semester), including three introductory classes in biological anthropology, two upper level courses, and one graduate class. Experience in online instruction and a willingness to develop online courses in physical anthropology is also a requirement. Priority will be given to candidates who complement current faculty expertise and advance the Department’s strategic mission (see departmental website at http://www.isu.edu/anthro/people.shtml).
