Lecturer in Evolutionary Medicine/Anthropology

The Department of Anthropology at UCL is a research-led department with an international reputation, offering innovative teaching programmes at both undergraduate and postgraduate levels. We invite applications for a Lecturer in Evolutionary Medicine/Anthropology with particular emphasis on evolutionary medicine from an interdisciplinary perspective. The successful candidates will be expected to carry out high-quality research and contribute to teaching for undergraduate introductory courses in evolutionary anthropology, core course teaching in the new MSc in Biosocial Medical Anthropology, to develop and teach advanced Undergraduate and Taught Graduate (Masters) courses in the appointee’s area of specialisation, and to contribute to teaching research methods at all levels.

Key Requirements:
The successful candidate will be a promising researcher with a proven record of ability to conduct high quality research which is reflected in the authorship of high quality publications or other outputs in evolutionary anthropology, and areas of significance to the fields of evolutionary medicine. They should also possess the ability to teach introductory evolutionary anthropology and specialist courses with relevance to evolutionary medicine at both the undergraduate and postgraduate level.

Candidates must hold a PhD in a relevant discipline and have strong knowledge of quantitative methods.
