Visiting Assistant Professor of Biological Anthropology

The Department of Anthropology at Indiana University Bloomington seeks to hire a biological anthropologist for a 1 year Visiting Assistant Professor position to for the 2019-20 academic year. We are particularly interested in a scholar with research interests that are informed by evolutionary theory and address questions of broad anthropological significance and who demonstrates ability and interest in innovative undergraduate teaching. The candidate will teach 4 courses (2 per semester), including a large introductory class in human prehistory, and upper level classes in human variation, diet in human evolution, and medical anthropology. Draft syllabi are welcomed, but not required, with the application. Candidates will have Ph.D. in hand by the time of appointment: ABDs may be considered. Review of applications will begin March 1 and continue until the position is filled. Interviews will be conducted by Skype or at the HBA/AAPA meetings in Cleveland.
