Assistant Professor – AZ – Anatomy

The Department of Anatomy at Midwestern University (MWU), Glendale, Arizona, invites applications for two full-time tenure-track faculty positions in the College of Graduate Studies. Ph.D. or equivalent degree is required, and completion of a post-doctoral experience is expected. Salary and rank are commensurate with qualifications, and salary is competitive based on national pay scales. The application submission window is open until October 15.  Review of applications will begin as early as September 17, and we will interview candidates until the two positions are filled.

Departmental teaching responsibilities include team-taught courses in the Arizona College of Osteopathic Medicine and Colleges of Dentistry, Optometry, Health Sciences, and Veterinary Medicine. Courses include: gross anatomy, neuroscience, histology, and embryology. Previous teaching experience in gross anatomy is strongly preferred, and additional teaching experience in embryology, histology, or neuroscience is desirable.

Faculty are expected to develop and maintain a productive research program with the potential to attract extramural funding. Startup funds, lab space, shared hard-money research staff, core instrumentation, and a growing collection of zoological specimens are available. Successful applicants will join a vibrant and diverse department whose research strengths include: vertebrate paleontology and paleoanthropology; comparative vertebrate morphology and biomechanics; and translational neuroscience and reproductive biology. In addition, there are opportunities for collaborative research with faculty in various departments and colleges across the Glendale and Downers Grove campuses.
