Assistant Professor – Biological Anthropology – Tenure Track

The Department of Anthropology at New Mexico State University seeks to hire a full-time, tenure track assistant professor in biological anthropology who is broadly trained and with preferred expertise in one or more of the following: molecular anthropology, human variation and health, evolutionary medicine, or neuroanthropology. Ability to teach human osteology and skeletal variation and biocultural perspectives is desired. Teaching experience in biological anthropology laboratory settings is strongly preferred. Strengths in evolutionary theory and research methods are essential. Successful candidates will show evidence of a strong record of scholarship; the development of a problem-oriented research program with potential for securing external funding is highly desirable.

Candidates must have a PhD in Anthropology at the time of application.

Applicants should demonstrate a strong potential for success in both research and teaching. Appointment effective fall semester 2019 for the 9-month academic year.
