University of Colorado Colorado Springs tenure-track Assistant Professor

The Department of Anthropology at the University of Colorado Colorado Springs invites applications for a tenure-track Assistant Professor with an emphasis on biological anthropology. Appointment will begin Fall 2015.

We seek a scholar preferably with a strong history of research and teaching. Preference will be given to researchers whose areas of interest may complement faculty research. These areas may include human behavioral ecology, and/or health or medicine, behavioral research, paleo-archaeology, or population genetics. Teaching responsibilities will include introductory level courses in physical and biological anthropology, and upper division courses in areas of expertise. Preference will be given to applicants with an active field program. Geographical area is open.

Ph.D. in hand is required by the time of appointment.

The UCCS Department of Anthropology offers a strong four-field undergraduate curriculum. There is currently no graduate program, and faculty typically involve undergraduates in their research and publication. Standard teaching load is five courses per year (semester system).
