Biological Anthropology Lecturer

The Department of Anthropology at Appalachian State University invites applications for a nine month, full-time, non-tenure track appointment in Biological Anthropology to begin August 2017 (up to a 3 year contract, contingent upon qualifications and need). Specialization is open, but preference will be given to candidates whose research has a strong evolutionary or bio-cultural focus. The successful applicant will teach a full course load that includes one section of an introductory-level, general education biological anthropology course with a focus on topics in human evolution, titled “Our Primate Heritage” (one lecture and two to three labs per week) and one section of the general education course titled “Gender, Race, and Class.” PhD in anthropology preferred but ABD will be considered. Teaching experience is required.
