Postdoctoral Research Scholar – Paleoanthropology

The Evolutionary Anatomy Lab in the North Carolina State University College of Veterinary Medicine invites applicants for a two-year postdoctoral position. The successful candidate will join a research group focused primarily on African hominin paleontology, with specific interests in the functional morphology of the postcranial skeleton and methodological advances in body size estimation. The postdoctoral research scholar will be based in the Department of Molecular Biomedical Sciences at NC State, working with Christopher Walker (Assistant Professor of Anatomy), but will also work under the supervision of Steven Churchill (Professor of Evolutionary Anthropology) in the Department of Evolutionary Anthropology at Duke University. The selected candidate will be expected to carry out independent research in an area complementary to lab interests, make presentations regarding their research, publish their research results in peer-reviewed journals, and participate in grant proposal preparation. Though not a requirement of the position, teaching opportunities in veterinary anatomy will be made available to the postdoctoral research scholar.
