Assistant Professor in Human Biological Anthropology

The Department of Anthropology invites applications for a tenure-track position in human biological anthropology beginning July 1, 2018. We seek applications from broadly trained biological anthropologists who are concerned with human health via diet, nutrition, disease, adaptability, and plasticity (i.e., developmental plasticity, neuroplasticity, epigenetics) in contemporary living populations with a regional focus in the Americas, Asia, or Southeast Asia. This position will strengthen the department’s combination of science and social science to better understand humanity’s health and well-being from a broad, cross-cultural perspective. The position may include regional crossovers (African American Studies, Asian Studies, Chicano Studies, Ethnic Studies, Hispanic Studies, Southeast Asian Studies) and campus-wide connections made via the Medical School, Biology, Environmental Sciences, and Neuroscience. The successful candidate will be expected to teach lower-division anthropology courses as well as upper-division and graduate courses in the field of specialization. A PhD in Anthropology is required by the start of appointment July 1, 2018. Salary will be competitive and commensurate with education and experience.
