Job Description
The Department of Health Sciences in the School of Health Professions at the University of Missouri invites applications and nominations for Chair. This will be an open rank position; the preferred candidate will be at the rank of Associate or Full Professor (TT or NTT). The Chair of the Department of Health Sciences leads a diverse team of award-winning faculty and staff members. Health Sciences is one of the fastest growing and the most popular undergraduate major at the University of Missouri. Department researchers are conducting important interdisciplinary work in the areas of public health, health policy, health services, and social determinants of health.
The ideal candidate will have leadership and development experience, a funded research agenda, and a national reputation in any of the areas of health professions. Prior experience should include program planning, personnel management, budgeting, and effective mentorship of faculty members.
The Department of Health Sciences serves the citizens of Missouri through its outstanding research, experiential learning, and education of students in the areas of public health, health disparities, health policy, and pre-professional preparation for a variety of health care disciplines.
