Stony Brook Medicine – Gross Anatomy Instructor Position

The Department of Anatomical Sciences at Stony Brook University School of Medicine invites applications for an Instructor position, with primary teaching responsibilities in human gross anatomy to healthcare professional students.
Position will begin August 1, 2018. This is a one year renewable appointment. Applications will be reviewed on a rolling basis upon receipt.

Applicants must have a Ph.D. in functional morphology, evolutionary morphology, vertebrate paleontology, systematics, or physical anthropology by the start date; and have completed a dissection-based course in human anatomy by start date.
Preference will be given to those who have taught in a dissection-based human anatomy course. Candidates should have an ongoing research program and record of publication.

The Ph.D. degree and research focus should complement the department’s existing strengths in functional morphology, evolutionary morphology, phylogenetics, vertebrate paleontology, or physical anthropology. Current departmental faculty include John Fleagle, Nathan Kley, Susan Larson, Stephanie Maiolino, Maureen O’Leary, Randall Susman, Alan Turner, and Eric Wilberg.

Evaluation of candidates will begin April, 2018 and will continue until the position is filled.
