Postdoctoral Fellow, Biological Anthropology

The Department of Anthropology in the J. William Fulbright College of Arts and Sciences at the University of Arkansas is recruiting for a 12-month Postdoctoral Fellow to start in January 2019 (start date is flexible). The Postdoctoral Fellow will be funded as part of a project exploring normal and pathological covariation in the masticatory apparatus of anthropoid primates, supported by an NSF Award. The successful applicant will have familiarity with evolutionary theory, masticatory biomechanics, and geometric morphometric techniques. Responsibilities will include assisting with data management, data collection and analysis, contributing to scientific publications and presentations disseminating the results of the research, and supervising undergraduate students. Some travel may be required. Minimum Qualifications:
• Doctoral degree (Ph.D., DPhil) in biological anthropology, evolutionary biology, or a related field conferred by the start of employment
• Record of original research and scientific publication

Preferred Qualifications:
• Doctoral degree in hand by the time of application
• Experience in geometric morphometric techniques
• Experience with 3D modeling programs (Avizo, Geomagic)
• Experience with programming (Matlab, R)
• Experience in primate craniofacial morphology/masticatory biomechanics
