Senior Instructor

The Department of Cell and Developmental Biology at the University of Colorado Anschutz Medical Campus invites application for a full-time faculty position in Anatomy at the level of Senior Instructor. This is a one-year position with the possibility of renewal, and an anticipated start date of July 1 2019. The successful applicant should have a Ph.D., D.O., M.D., or equivalent degree and substantial experience teaching a dissection-based human anatomy course. Applicants without such a terminal degree may be considered on the basis of extensive teaching experience.
The position’s teaching responsibilities include participating in team-taught gross anatomy courses (including cadaver dissection) for medical students, dental students, and graduate students in the Modern Human Anatomy master’s program. Experience in human dissection and laboratory-based small group teaching is required. The successful applicant also will be expected to contribute to other course-related activities across the three teaching units including but not limited to review sessions, tutoring, prosection demonstrations, and examinations. Experience in and a willingness to participate in classroom teaching (lecture and/or interactive formats) in anatomy and physiology is desirable, but not required. In addition, the successful applicant will be expected to provide support to the Modern Human Anatomy program by participating on committees or program initiatives, as well as advising and mentoring current students.
