The Department of Integrative Anatomical Sciences at the Keck School of Medicine is searching for a post-doctoral teaching fellow to teach gross anatomy and osteology in a new Master’s of Science Program in Human Anatomy. Specific teaching responsibilities include directing an intensive, 10-week summer gross anatomy course, which is the cornerstone of the MS program, and a teaching role in a team-taught human osteology course in the fall term. This is a 1-year position, potentially renewable for a second year with permission of the department chair. The position will begin April 1, 2019 or shortly thereafter. Applicants should have a Ph.D., M.D., and/or equivalent degree (ABD applicants will also be considered), and have prior experience in teaching human gross anatomy to graduate or medical students. The successful applicant must demonstrate a strong commitment to teaching. Applicants should also have a strong commitment to research in some area of the anatomical sciences, and we are especially interested in scholars who focus on functional morphology, vertebrate evolution, and/or biological anthropology. There are ample opportunities for collaboration within the department (Drs. Kristian Carlson, Michael Habib, Adam Huttenlocker, Kristi Lewton, Biren Patel, and Erik Seiffert). Teaching utilizes our newly-renovated gross anatomy lab, featuring traditional dissection and extensive computer-based technologies. Information about the department is at https://keck.usc.edu/integrative-anatomical-sciences/. The fellow will receive a salary and benefits for 1 year commensurate with training and experience. For questions, please contact Dr. Kristi Lewton: lewton@usc.edu

Applicants should submit a cover letter, curriculum vitae, statement of teaching experience, summary of research/scholarly interests and accomplishments, and the contact information for 3-5 professional references including e-mail addresses. (Reference letters are not required at this time). The full application must be submitted electronically online through USC’s Employee Recruitment Services at https://usccareers.usc.edu/. In addition to the formal online submission process, applicants should send a copy of their submitted application materials (as a single PDF document) directed to Dr. Kristi Lewton USC Postdoctoral Search Committee, at anatomypostdoc.usc@gmail.com.
