The Department of Geography and Anthropology in the College of Letters, Arts and Social Sciences at California State Polytechnic University, Pomona (Cal Poly Pomona) invites applications for a tenure-track position in biological anthropology at the rank of Assistant Professor for appointment beginning in the 2020-2021 academic year. Minimum Qualifications
: – Ph.D. in anthropology or closely related fields from an accredited university at the time of appointment – Evidence of potential for excellence in university teaching (please send teaching evaluations, if available) – Evidence of research and scholarly potential (e.g., publications, conference presentations, grant development) – Evidence of ability to work with and mentor a diverse student population (e.g., advising, student club involvement, independent study supervision) – Ability to teach courses in biological anthropology and areas of specialization

Preferred/Desired Qualifications: – Specialization in anthropology of health/medicine, with bio-cultural focus – Potential for applied focus in research and/or teaching – Regional area of focus open – Willingness to develop a local research project and include undergraduate students – Willingness to conduct fieldwork or applied community projects with students.
