Clinical Assistant Professor (Anatomy)

The Department of Biomedical Sciences in the College of Health Sciences at Marquette University in Milwaukee, WI is seeking applications from individuals devoted to a career in instruction of anatomy and physiology to undergraduate, health professional, and post-baccalaureate students to fill a full-time, non-tenure track faculty position.

The Department of Biomedical Sciences is committed to teaching a broad, medically oriented curriculum to a large number of motivated, enthusiastic undergraduate students every year. The Department also makes significant contributions to a variety of heath professional programs, including instructing students in the Marquette University School of Dentistry, Doctor of Physical Therapy Program, Master’s Program in Physician Assistant Studies, and the new Doctor of Occupational Therapy program.

Our non-tenure track faculty are equal contributors to the department’s educational, service- and research-intensive mission. As a result, the successful applicant for this position will be compensated at a level comparable to our tenure-track, research-oriented faculty including an excellent benefits package and 12-month salary with opportunity for promotion.

Duties and Responsibilities
The successful candidate will be expected to be a full and active participant in the Biomedical Sciences Department and engage in service activities at the college/university level. Teaching requirements emphasize the direction of courses that include undergraduate model-based anatomy and physiology, undergraduate prosection-based anatomy, and also includes participation in classes that involve intensive cadaveric dissections.

Candidates who have enthusiasm for and experience with undergraduate academic advising, curriculum development, and outreach / community engagement activities focused on communities traditionally under-represented in STEM are especially encouraged to apply.

Skills and Abilities
Earned doctorate or substantial progress toward the terminal degree. Experience and/or training involving teaching health professional (medical, dental, physician assistant, physical therapy) students is required.
